On April 27th and 28th, Seishin Instructors Tim Pettepit, Kurt Marcinkiewicz, and Gabe Bryant traveled to the Quebec Open Martial Arts Tournament in Quebec City, Canada. The Quebec Open is one of the main events on the NASKA Circuit; a sport karate competing tour that attracts many martial artists from around the world. During these national tournaments, Competitors attempt to win their way through elimination rounds to participate in Nighttime Finals held on Saturday night.
Sensei Tim and Nidan Kurt, members of the prestigious Team Straight Up and former Seishin students, competed in the Team Sync Form Division. Team Sync is well-known on the NASKA circuit as one of the divisions that produces the most creative and original performances. Winning their way through eliminations, the two Seishin Instructors were one of 3 teams to represent themselves on stage during the Night Show Saturday night. However unable to pull through with a win the two did come away with a respectable second place; a truly amazing feat accomplished in front of a crowd of over 5,000 spectators.
